History Behind Digimon: Nexus

Digimon: Nexus is a work of fiction I began originally in 2004. Back then it was called the Treble Combination.
Over the past six years, Digimon: Nexus has been through so many changes and revamps that it is not even the slightest reflection of the original idea behind it. It has so transpired
to be something I love and hope to keep my enthusiasm for as it reminds me of how much I loved the Digimon fandom when I was younger.
I was introduced to the Digimon fandom and all that came with it by a friend, Lexxy (of Lexxy and Cunomon fame) after watching a few episodes of season 01 on Fox Kids. Seasons 01 and 02
remain my favourite series of the five (though I still refuse to acknowledge to epilogue of the last episode of 02). My first original character for the series was Chase Harlem and Sulcromon. Both
were created over ten years ago, and both have evolved, matured and developed as time has gone on. I have an incredible soft spot for both those characters, and re-reading the original
story I had for them both made me really want to write Digimon again... only with more depth, and with less of Chase being a total Mary-Sue.
Thus, Treble Combination was born. Originally it started with six characters, each totally different to each other and very bad writing. I wasn't enthralled by my idea, and my writing then
sucked something terrible. Treble Combination was abandoned for some time, and then I came back to it, fresh faced and full of new ideas. I had a better idea of how the story should be constructed
and how things should come about and what changes should be made. I kept the same six characters, adjusted their looks and their personalities so reflect some maturing I had done and started again.
This lasted some time, a website was made, I commissioned drawings, I was, mostly quite happy with the way Treble Combination, now Digimon: Nexus was coming along.
However, I lost interest, as so often happens, and my attention was taken for some time by other fandoms and interests (I became a cosplayer and photographer for one!> When I came back to
Digimon: Nexus on a nostalgia trip I was appalled by the writing, and the premise of the story. It bothered me exceptionally. I didn't write anything for some time but Nexus was
constantly niggling at the back of my mind. It was only when I entered a competition for my friend Xuza and her story Digimon: Viral that I got bitten by the bug again.
All the characters changed, the number dropped to four, all the main characters had some massive changes made to them, and were made to mature and reflect a better, and more well rounded
character. The Digimon partners they had mosty changed, and in some cases, some of the partners were dropped completely for entirely new ones. A re-write was started, and more episodes were plotted to
keep me going.
Digimon: Nexus, in whatever form it has taken, has been a massive part of my life and has developed a long with me as I've grown up. I've enjoyed its changing and its new changes, and I am pleased to think
it is at the best it could be. I am thoroughly enjoying writing this, as Digimon itself was such a big part of my late childhood/early teens, and I hope this is some kind of hommage to it.
So far, eleven episodes have been plotted out, and more are being plotted as I complete the episodes. Hopefully, Digimon: Nexus will run for about 30 to 40 episodes.
