canti

My friend James (better known as Ilpala in the UK cosplay community) asked me for a photoshoot at Ayacon of his Mecha costume, Canti from Furi Kuri.I had never heard of the anime or the character, but never one to turn down a friend or a challenge I said yes. I had shot James before so I knew what he was like too work with, which is really easy going. After seeing Canti in the Masquerade on the Saturday of Ayacon, I was really looking forward to the shoot on the Sunday.

When it came to settings, James said that Furi Kuri is set in normal times; so any setting worked. This was GREAT. At this point, Aya's different locations came in really useful. I was eager to try out different things, so we went from the building site near the Student Union, we carried on outside to the cash point; to the bus stop - where some very obliging bus drivers let me use their buses as a setting. We used the bus stop too, which I enjoyed. It was fun trying to get a character without a face to show emotion. ^^

Lastly I was hit with the idea to try some perspective shots; so I asked my friend Nert to walk and stuop when I told him to so we could get some size differences. They were fun. And turned out brilliantly I think! ^^ Cosplayer: Ilpala
